‘Gunwalkers’ In Official Selection At USC’s First Look
Gunwalkers has been chosen for the Official Selection of the USC School of Cinematic Arts First Look Film Festival. For over two decades, the School of Cinematic Arts’ Industry Relations office has organized the annual First Look Film Festival, a unique film showcase. Top student-produced films are screened for family, friends, faculty and especially the Hollywood Community. Awards presentations and receptions are held. Larry Auerbach, associate dean of the Office of Industry Relations says,
“Since its founding, First Look has been a showcase for cinematic excellence.”
He goes on to say, “Through both our audience voting and judging by our panels composed of leading faculty and industry members. That tradition of excellence is now given even higher recognition.” The First Look festival occurs during the SCA Talent Week, which includes screenings of First Look films, industry panels, workshops, company presentations, and social events.
Closing the week is the First Look Awards Ceremony honoring the winning films and filmmakers of the First Look Awards in Drama, Comedy, Documentary, and Animation as well as the Faculty Awards for Writing, Directing, Producing, Cinematography, Editing, Sound Design, and Production Design. The USC screenings are open to the entire university community as well as the public. First Look films are then showcased on a promotional USB drive distributed to the Hollywood Community, including agents, managers, producers, studio executives, and film festival programmers.
